How is your approach to self-improvement working?
Where do we begin?
On the road of life there are no wrong choices. There are no wrong paths. There are, however, some roads that fit more closely to who we are and what we wish to create, and there are some that don't. We are always free to evaluate our choices and path.
Some helpful first questions to ask . . . "Who am I?" . . . "Who am I, really?" . . . "What do I wish to create with this gift of life?" As we gain clarity with these questions, and we are always free to explore them more, we can begin looking into what's working and what's not. It can be most helpful to start with what's working. This engages our parasympathetic nervous system. When we begin our focus here we open our minds to new and creative possibilities. We are 6 times more likely to be engaged, and when we feel engaged we feel more purposeful, productive, and fulfilled. This positively impacts relationships at work, at home, and in our community. This in turn reflects positively back to ourselves. We can then inquire with genuine curiosity into what's not working. In the positive energy and light we have created, it is easier to access our authenticity and vulnerability. We can look openly at our weaknesses with fresh and clear minds, and to find the motivation and new ideas to create change. |
