Life isn’t purely black or white.
Our perceptions and thoughts aren’t black and white.

And yet, we might take a stand that is black or white to support a point of view. This can be helpful to explore ideas and information. It can also be counterproductive. We can end up making enemies of others who have helpful viewpoints that differ from our own.

The irony is that expressing a view as white or black often polarizes the other person’s ideas, and pushes them further away from what we would like them to consider. It can reduce their willingness to listen.

If you’ve read this far, you’re demonstrating that your ability to listen and learn new things can exceed your human need to feel safe and right. Your curiosity for life has the capacity to trump your fears of it. You are listening. So I will share more.

White reflects all the colors. Black absorbs them.

Our physical experience of life is continually unfolding within the humanly visible spectrum of all the colors and shades in between white and black, an infinite array of possibilities.

And beyond the humanly visible spectrum is an infinite array of EVERYTHING else.

Our perception is infinitely, yes infinitely, limited.

Open into an intention to listen, and explore the awesomeness of what’s possible.

What we know will always be smaller in comparison to what is possible. The best solutions not only involve the people and organizations facing challenges, but come by helping to bring their brilliance and ideas to light.
